meet wick & ed

wick-ed story

Wick first met Ed freshman year at Everett High School. Life happens and serendipity follows. Two incredible children, Brandon & Haley, blessed the young couple and a magical life was built. Always an entrepreneur, Wick saw a niche in their hometown of E-Town back in the early 90’s that he thought could use a little scratching. After building a wine cellar in their basement, Wick realized there wasn’t really anywhere in town where one could learn more about and purchase interesting wines. Wick-Ed Cellars was born.

The actual original thinking behind the brand was a tribute to both Wick & Ed’s fathers (Verne “Big Wick” Wicklund and Edwin Nelson) who passed away just prior to and shortly after their nuptials. Seven years after the origin of something Wick-Ed, the Wicklunds sold the shop, after which they embarked on a new adventure in Bellingham opening several wine establishments over a thirteen year span. Wick later started a wine consulting business which eventually led the Wick’s back to their homegrown roots. After closing the original Wick-Ed Cellars, Wick believed Everett was ripe for the vision they had to resurrect Wick-Ed integrating all the knowledge they accumulated over the past couple of decades.

Wick-Ed Wine Social Club is the result of original passion, life experience, serendipity, “stick-to-it-ness” and a dawgedness desire to bring something special to Wick & Ed’s hometown.

Welcome to Wick-Ed Wine Social Club! We’re so glad you could make it.
